Specialized Dicamba Products for Soybeans
Engenia® Herbicide, XtendiMax® With VaporGrip® Technology or FeXapan™ Herbicide Plus VaporGrip® Technology in Roundup Ready 2 Xtend® Soybeans
Engenia, XtendiMax With VaporGrip Technology and FeXapan Plus VaporGrip Technology may now be available in your state for preemergence and postemergence use on Roundup Ready 2 Xtend soybeans. These dicamba containing herbicides now give growers postemergence product options to control troublesome weeds like waterhemp, Palmer amaranth, Giant ragweed, and marestail in Roundup Ready 2 Xtend soybeans. These herbicides are single mode of action group 4 herbicides- (synthetic auxins). It is highly recommended, for maximum weed control and resistance management, to use multiple modes of action starting with a preemergence residual herbicide, such as Prefix®, Boundary® 6.5 EC or BroadAxe® XC or other competitive products. Follow the preemergence program, with an as-directed postemergence application of a dicamba formulation approved for use on Roundup Ready 2 Xtend soybeans. Also, an approved postemergence tank-mix partner is recommended for additional weed control. It is important to strictly adhere to the label for application timings, for example, control of waterhemp and Palmer amaranth is most effective when applied before the weeds exceed 4” in height. Finally, it is critical that only dicamba products approved for use on Roundup Ready 2 Xtend soybeans are used as-directed by the label.
