Diagnostics: Video: Looking for Signs of Nodulation
Nitrogen (N) is essential to soybean development.
As a legume, soybeans are capable of fixing their own nitrogen, but how do you know if your crop is getting enough N?
Soybeans require 4.5 to 5 pounds of N per bushel; in other words, a 60-bushel/acre crop requires 270 to 300 pounds of N.
In this two-minute video ISA Technical Consultant Dan Davidson, Ph. D., explains how to check for nodulation, or soybeans fixing nitrogen, and gives tips on how to promote nitrogen fixation.
